Aberrant NDC report tool
The short answer
PharmaFix normalizes supported NDC formats and compares them with the bundled reference set used by the analyzer. It then estimates matched paid-dollar and claim-count shares for the selected report month.
How NDC matching works
NDCs are matched in canonical 11-digit form. A 10-digit NDC is first padded to 11 by its segment layout, and unhyphenated codes are checked against common variants, so a match is found whether your export writes the NDC with or without hyphens.
What the tool reports
- The share of your paid dollars tied to aberrant NDCs (the dollar test).
- The share of your claims tied to aberrant NDCs (the claim-count test).
- A day-by-day view so you can see when aberrant activity accumulated.
- The size of the aberrant list your file was checked against.
Why NDC matching is easy to get wrong
The same product can appear as 00310-0737-30 in one export and 0310073730 in another. A naive text comparison misses those matches and understates your aberrant share. Matching in canonical 11-digit form, with layout-aware padding for 10-digit codes, keeps the count honest either way.

Version and effective dates
Last reviewed August 7, 2026. The analyzer applies 34 additions on or after August 1 and 46 more on or after September 1. An August report uses 1,736 effective NDCs; a September report uses 1,782. Other entries remain dependent on the bundled source history, so confirm current payer documents.
